Weekend in Illinois

This past weekend we got up bright and early Saturday morning and headed to Jerseyville for our niece Katelyn's confirmation. We are learning that no matter how much time we allow for our trips...we always need a little bit more, especially with Andi and her potty breaks! We were both so proud of her - no accidents the entire weekend! We are still a little nervous about when she tells us that she has to potty (especially on the road) because we aren't sure how much "wait time" we have. We luckily brought the potty chair with us because it would save time and because it seems like IL has no convenient stops along the highway. Needless to say over the weekend I found myself saying over and over "I am so glad we have a van!" I was pretty much the flight or van attendant for the trip and it made it so much easier that we had room and I could get in the back with the kids if need be without stopping.

After the confirmation we headed back to Skip & Tonya's to eat and hang out. Andi had a blast hanging out with her cousins and followed Luke and Katelyn around. TJ got to know his older cousin Curtis a little better too! :)

Katelyn opening her gifts- I wasn't quick enough to get a picture of her all dressed up!

Around 2 when we were all stuffed and Andi was about read to zonk, we headed to Gina and Jason's which was about 1 1/2 away. We got there shortly after 4 and just in time- we were all ready to get out of the vehicle! We had lots of fun hanging out with Jason and Gina and ate way too many sweets!

Aunt Gina made our favorites- cupcakes! She even let us decorate our own. Andi was super excited about decorating the cupcakes with sprinkles so excited she didn't want to eat it she just wanted to decorate them for Jason and Travis (no complaints from them!)

Andi had been talking about the puppies all day and wanted to go outside and see them all the time. As you can tell they are super cute- even I fell in love with them. Andi loved looking at them and wanted to help feed them and watch them play but she wasn't too sure about petting them or holding them....I guess that's a sign that we need to visit more!

Sunday was such a nice day and luckily we got to spend a little time outside before we spent the rest of the day in the car on the ride home. I don't know who had more fun playing in the leaves!

How fun! I'm so jealous she is potty-trained! Conner had better get on board! Looks like you had one of our weekends!!!
