Day 1- They started building the basement. Of course we had to make the trip to see all of the excitement. It took a little explaining to Andi but since seeing the "big pile of rocks and dirt" she is totally on board!

Day 2- Travis and TJ had to run and pick up some seed and went to see what other progress was made on day 2. The basement was completely dug out by then and there were really big piles of dirt!
Day 3- The footings were poured and our kids totally loved exploring the concrete paths and rebar sticking out! Luckily there were no major injuries!! We have decided that they will probably be disappointed when the house is finished and there are no more fun "things" to play with!
Day 4- They framed the walls and are waiting to pour them (hopefully on Tuesday).
I have been trying to post these pictures for awhile now but just now got them to upload right. Depending on the weather we may be at a stand still for now. We know that building a house is not a "short term" thing but are pretty much in shock that we have actually started the process and how much was accomplished the first week!

It is amazing how much actually gets done in such a short amount of time! Congratulations on the new home...it's very exciting!
That went fast! Congrats!!! I'm jealous...I want to live in the country. Have fun with this!
Mom and Dad are in the process of building a new house, too. It will be interesting to see the progress of both homes. Good luck! Hopefully you won't have "unproductive" shopping trips like we had yesterday. We went to Quincy to Home Depot, spent 2 hours, and Mom purchased 2 cans of stain for $9.59. I was not thrilled!
Love the pictures! Who knew this process would be so entertaining for the whole family at this early stage, especially for Grandma Mari!!!
It looks like you are going to have a beautiful setting for the new house! Congrats!
Yay!! I am so excited for you guys!!!
ok, somewhere I got lost in translation, where are you building?? Macon???
Yay for new pics (I'm a little slow, but am finally back to the internet!) I'm so glad I got to go see the big rock pile and the building site!
