A little bit of a break!

Towards the end of September we decided that we needed to get away. Even though we had only been in our new house we still needed a couple days away from everything. We decided to head to the Lake for a couple days. Even though when we got back it seemed like we were even busier and had more to catch up on, it was much needed and enjoyed!

While we were there we promised the kids Miner Mikes- to our dismay we found out (after we had pulled up to the door) that is closed on weekdays. Lucky for us and our sanity we found a new and really cool city park.

Andi had fun climbing and actually did a pretty good job of it!

You knew that TJ wouldn't be too far behind...

She made it all the way to the top and then had dad help her climb over.

While we were there it was Travis' birthday. Andi was really upset when she found out her dad was not going to have a party. I however was sneaky (3rd time's a charm and thank goodness TJ decided he really liked the bathroom and wanted to go multiple times!) and had a surprise for him!

Happy 31st birthday Travis!

Of course they didn't have enough candles but TJ and Andi had to help anyways!

What is a hotel stay without swimming?! Andi LOVED the water and was content on swimming (with her ring and floaties) by herself.

TJ was not a fan and only got in once. Then he was content to sit on the side of the pool with me and Cooper. I think TJ is going to be my sensitive little boy...after awhile these other kids came down and jumped in and TJ gasped "OH NO!" when the kids disappeared under water. I thought he was going to get really upset and start crying each time they went under.

Andi kept swimming from one end of the pool to the other. She did not need or want Travis' help but he stayed a little close just in case.

Andi was too busy to take naps but man did vacation wear her out!

The best part about a hotel? You don't have to clean it.

We thoroughly enjoyed our cookies in bed while watching Mizzou beat Nevada.
