Fun City

This year we were planning on taking a family vacation to the Wisconsin Dells which would have been great because we would have been in Kyle's neck of the woods...too bad it didn't work out! The Dells were booked the week we were trying for and with Travis being gone most of this month we decided that maybe we didn't need to go anywhere big...instead we went to Burlington to visit Fun City.

The trip started off pretty rough with Andi getting sick during the trip which lead to many stops and not very happy riders. We were glad that we continued on because when we finally rolled into Burlington she was feeling much better! We decided to just go with it and whatever the cause of her sickness was gone 3 hours after it had started. She requested and ate cheesesticks for lunch and then spent the next 3+ hours at the waterpark and there were no more incidents!

We hit the waterpark as soon as we got there...it was crowded but with all the space you didn't really notice it. Andi loved it from the moment go. TJ on the other hand was a little hesitant but quickly warmed up to the place and even enjoyed getting water dumped on him by the huge bucket! Cooper loved the place and thought he was big stuff. He wanted nothing to do with the floatie that we had brought him or holding anyones hand. Even falling completely down in the water a few times didn't have an effect on him. Needless to say this independence and 12 inch water didn't really match up! :)

Besides the water park we also enjoyed bowling and playing arcade games. With our package game $50 worth of Fun City money- money that was pretty fun and made bowling and the arcade games even better since they were essentially free!

All in all it was a great mini vacation. Of course there were no naps and late nights and early mornings but what more would you expect with 3 little kids! :)

Andi ready to bowl. The kids (besides Cooper who couldn't roam everywhere) loved bowling!

watching it go...

VERY excited that she knocked some pins down!

Super excited! I love the raw (happy) emotion that kids will give ya!

TJ preparing to roll the ball (or kick which is what he added to the rolling later in the night to help it get to the pins).

great form!

We even ate at Burger King aka the place with the king hats per the request. We hardly ever eat inside fast food places it seems and never play in the play areas....today they got to do both!

Cooper was satisfied to have his milk and of course his very own king hat!

We also learned to love arcade games..which could prove dangerous later!

Travis coaching TJ...

More duck game playing...
Did you look twice? Nope, that's not TJ that's Cole. The Schusters not living too far away made the drive down to see us supper and of course we had to show them the arcade games.

fishing....this was the big game that you could get lots of tickets at.
The first time TJ played he hit 100 tickets....the next day Andi did (thank goodness) and I even hit the 100 ticket spot on the day we were leaving! :)

The other big hit...the big wheel game.

TJ and Travis popping the bubbles.

Their "racing game" The car actually moved and responded to the kids driving-scary riding for sure!

The last day we raced the big kid car games and of course Cooper had to get in on that action.

Coop and TJ racing the little car....Cooper was a little destructive (to say the least) to TJ's driving.

Before we left we got to count our tickets and redeem them for prizes! Some fantastically expensive prizes none the less but oh well it wasn't technically our money, right?

Kids picture before we left- showing off their "bouncy dice" that they won.
