Lincoln County Fair

After another week of getting sheep ready for the fair, (we are getting faster and the kids are getting better too!) we headed to Troy early Saturday morning think 5:30ish! Luckily and surprisingly this year was tons better for driving purposes. Everyone was excited going down and exhausted coming home but there was no screaming from Hannibal all the way home, like it was last year!

There of course was lots going on at Troy and it was hot too! We were excited that Kyle was able to make it home for his fair of the year! We missed him! :)

I did manage to get some pictures but they are hit and miss...

Elisa helping Andi show Heartbreaker 2 (Heartbreaker did not get to come to Troy she was bumped out by Heartbreaker 2- only later to be named Susie)

Andi holding the head while Elisa sets feet.

I later took the head but Andi still hung out helping. She has gotten to be quite the big kid when it comes to showing and helping get sheep ready. She always is wanting to help papa do chores and does a great job walking her sheep to get ready for the fairs.

Gina and Kyle showing the Northern Star Ewe. Gina informed me it was her turn to have the "good sheep."
Elisa and I showing the other yearling...

final placings.... :)
I have to laugh at this picture and it always makes me smile!

Me posing with the Champion SD Ewe

Grandkids picture with our champ!

Andi showing while the boys watch....typical boys lol j/k!
We were very happy to find out that the show order was reverse ABC order - which meant SD were one of the first breeds to show! We were even done before lunch was a very rare event but definitely made the day better for everyone in our younger clan!
After lunch we headed for the rides even though it was way to hot to be walking around. We finally got our cowboy a real hat...
TJ very excited about the hat but never happy about posing for me...

serious drivers...you know it was hot- even the kids were slowing down!

TJ and the dragon.

"Princess in the dragon"

Uncle Jason was nice enough to ride the spinning dragons with them. He said it was even hotter in the dragons- lol we were all glad it was him and not us! :)
We left Troy around 3:30 which is earlier than usual but the sheep were released and I'm not sure anyone was complaining! We met Uncle Kyle for some pizza in MC on the way home...eating in the AC definitely hit the spot and after we got home and finally called it a night we all slept good!
