Old Settlers

We got back Wednesday from our mini getaway and Thursday was the start of Old Settlers. Our kids were pumped up for sure.

Thursday night we headed to Shelbyville still wondering if we were going to bite the bullet and buy the armbands or not. Needless to say we did and our kids totally got our money's worth!! We started around 8 and closed it down at 10:10. Armbands were supposed to be over at 10pm but lucky for us the fun house lady let them keep going!

Andi on the fun house slide.

TJ climbing in the fun house...

and then having fun sliding down.
Can you tell the fun house was a popular spot for us? The kids loved it and soon began taking a little longer staying in to play and then of course sliding down on their bellies to get out.

Cousins!
Ally rode rides with us and they all had a blast. I thought that this looked like one of the best rides and I was right. The 3 of them LOVED it! The all helped spin the wheel and they had themselves twirling so fast we were sure they wouldn't be able to walk when they got off....and they did need help walking but they were laughing the whole time!

I haven't laughed that hard in a long time...but their faces where priceless. They were spinning so fast they couldn't stay sitting up straight!
The other big rides were of course the Carousel, the bouncy house and the big slide which Andi and TJ loved! TJ raced with his dad against Andi who was big enough to go by herself!
Friday night we headed again to Old Settlers, thank goodness the rain finally had stopped. Andi wanted to be "on stage" or in the Little Folks Contest. TJ was sure that she was going to sing and dance and was pretty disappointed that he wasn't old enough to participate but we kept telling him next year he would be 3 and be able to. (Even though he tried to convince me that he was actually 4 this year and should be able to be "on stage.")

Andi waiting to start...

Group picture of all of the "little folks"

TJ getting some attention from Trent...this helped for a little while. :) Besides we found out the night before that Trent is even cooler than we thought he was, he has plier holders! ;)
Just about the time it was Andi's turn, TJ decided to sit on my lap and while I was taping her (unfortunately or fortunately lol) he bumped my flip and stopped it. I did not get to forever etch the moment in time...not like anyone will ever let me forget that all I do is "laundry and lay in bed!"

Andi after the big event with her goodie bag- we were very excited later to find out there was a "free drink" coupon for the food stand and $1 coupon to Phillips!

Kale enjoying a milk shake :)
Later we headed back to the house to relax with the Pollards but the kids had other ideas...so instead we got to chill and watch the kiddos play until 11pm! Still fun!! :)
Saturday morning came early for the Belts (who have not been on a early aka before 11pm bedtime schedule for a week now). We headed to the parade and before too long it got hot! Its never too hot for a parade though...and although there were no tractors pulling floats or Truman there was lots of candy and we even found Whitney and Macy Gough!
Whitney, TJ, Macy and Andi watching the parade...

Cooper - hot but happy! (preparing for Sedalia I'm sure lol)
After the parade we had lunch and talked to a few people before heading home to nap and make some side dishes for my big 10 year Class Reunion. Of course I did not get any pictures at all but we all had a great time catching up with old classmates and their families.
Travis and I have already decided that the next time we take a vacation we won't make it right before Old Settlers...talk about being worn out!! :)

Cute pictures! I love the ones of Andi, TJ, & Ally riding the spinning cups :) And you got a good picture of Andi before going on stage at least :)
